Our Babies

Well, Holly and I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that the due date for our little peanut is March 29, 2008 :). How exciting. Here is a picture of the ultra sound. So far it is only 2.03 cm.

Also I forgot to put this up about 2 months ago. We have 2- 4 month old Black Lab/Heeler mix puppies. Here is a Picture of them:

The one on the left is Kayla and the one on the right is Shelby. I will begin training Shelby on August 28th for Search and Rescue with Weber County Sheriff's department. Kayla will be a great house dog. Both are very loving and obedient. Kayla is the snuggle bug of the two.

It's about time!

I've been trying to get Micah to update this for about 5 months, now I'm doing it and have no idea what I'm doing, so here goes.

Micah and I both passed our state exams, so now we are both certified EMT-Intermediates.

Hope and Joe are still with us.

Micah started Fire School last Monday, and they are kicking his butt. Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-10 p.m. and Saturdays 9-5 p.m. Last Saturday they made them get there at 7 a.m. By the end of the night he was falling asleep at Lagoon, helping me. But he seems to be enjoying it so far, I only say that because it's all he talks about when he gets home. :) Good thing though that way I can prepare myself for what is to come.

Our most exciting news though would have to be that we're going to have a baby. Micah is going to be a daddy and he is completely ecstatic, Me?... I'm way nervous and sick, but for the most part excited. When we told everybody they kept telling us to stop lying, it was kind of hard to convince them we were telling the truth, but that has to be the best part so far, is their faces. We're not sure when the big day will be yet, but our first appointment is August 22nd.

Well that's it for now, we'll keep you posted.

Happy late Cinco De Mayo

Just a little FYI:
In addition to its importance in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is significant to all Americans
because it marks the last time that any foreign power has acted the aggressor on North American soil. The U.S. Census Bureau reported in 2004 that 24 million U.S. residents were of Mexican descent, accounting for nearly 10 percent of America’s population. One of the most interesting Cinco de Mayo celebrations takes place in Chandler, Ariz. Chandler holds annual Chihuahua races and parades. At the end of the day the two most stylish dogs are crowned king and queen of the celebration.

Friday the 13th

The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia. More than 80 percent of high-rises lack a 13th floor. Many airports skip the 13th gate. Airplanes have no 13th aisle. Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13. Many cities do not have a 13th Street or a 13th Avenue. Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names.

April Fools

The commonly accepted origin of April Fool's Day involves changes in the calendar. At one time, the New Year celebration began on March 25 and ended on April 1. However, in 1582,
King Charles IX adopted the Gregorian calendar and accepted the beginning of the new year as January 1. Those who refused to acknowledge the new date or simply forgot received foolish gifts and invitations to nonexistent parties. The butt of such a prank was known as a "poisson d'avril" or "April fish." French children sometimes tape a picture of a fish on the back of their schoolmates, crying "Poisson d'Avril" when the prank is discovered. In Scotland, for example, April Fool's Day is actually celebrated for two days. The second day is devoted to pranks involving the posterior region of the body. It is called Taily Day. The origin of the "kick me" sign can be traced to this observance.

Great News! :)

Well Holly and I have great news...............................Ha! You might be thinking that we are pregnant............................So are we?.................................No! he he he. We passed our EMT-I class at the DATC. We did 2 practical exams and 1 written exam. The 2 practical's were: one adult cardiac arrest and one pediatric major illness. Well we passed and now are able to go take the State Exam and hopefully pass there. We will be sure to let you guys know.

Hope and Jo moved in with us. It is fun and different at the same time. Were not used to having 2 other people living with us and a dog. It has been a real blessing for us having them here though. They have both helped out a ton. Hope has decided to go back to school and get her Phlebotomy certification. Jo is working on getting his GED and then become a Police Officer.

Snowmobiling

Well I took Holly snowmobiling for her first time. It was a lot of fun and we will do it again. We went to Monte Cristo. I was really surprised at how there was not a lot of snow up there. We were going to go to Hardware Ranch but I did not think that there was enough snow to go off the trail and play. Even on top of Monte there was barely enough to get off and play. Here are some pics:
Here's Holly:

A view from on top of Monte:

Here is me:
Here is a nice picture from the parking lot:

Well that was our little trip. Holly is finally done with working at Bath and Body Works. :) We are so excited. It is nice to be able to see each other more. I finished the office, I patched a lot of holes, painted it, and finally got the room set up and boxes gone through. I know after living here for 4 months you would expect almost every room done. Well that would be nice. I am sure that from a year from now I will have a box from the move that I have not gone through. Well I am tired and am going to bed now. Good night never never land.

Back

Well this last week has been pretty tuff for us. Holly has been doing her externship with Lakeview Hospital in Phlebotomy. She really enjoyed doing it and hopes to get a job as one. She worked from 4am-1pm. It sucked. And then when she would get home she would have to work one of her other jobs. So on some days she worked from 4am to 10 pm.
Holly and I are going to school this semester. We are taking the EMT-I class together at the DATC. Holly is also taking a couple of class' online that I cannot remember. I will try and update some more more often and put some pics up too. We finally got the internet at homes so I can update more.
